We have years of experience in the paver industry and have seen it all. Unfortunately, some contractors do not adhere to the same industry standards that we follow. As a result, you may encounter sunken or uneven areas that could be dangerous or unsightly. We will develop a plan to remove and "re-engineer" the area, number the pieces, and reinstall them properly like a puzzle.
We utilize Trident professional-grade cleaners and equipment designed to improve aesthetics and prepare the surface for ideal sealer adhesion. Depending on the site conditions, we may also use a hot power washer with a turbo tip to remove the jointing sand down to a depth of one inch. We continuously keep your plants and lawn wet while using any chemicals to help prevent damage.
The typical prep process is as follows:
Remove joint sand if necessary.
Treat for efflorescence with Trident White Water.
Look for organic and greasy stains and treat with Trident Point Break or Trident Safe Harbor.
Perform an overall surface clean with Trident Wipe Out, which will also neutralize any specialty chemicals that are used.
We excel in identifying the best solution for achieving pretty, stable sand. We use either mechanical or water compaction to install the appropriate sand. Here are some common products we use:
Easy Joint Resin-Based Jointing Sand: This is our favorite because we believe it's the most long-term solution. The best way to explain this product is that it is shipped wet inside plastic, airtight packaging. When it is exposed to air, it hardens.
Jointing Sand: We use true paver jointing sand (not play sand) that is designed to be installed with a joint stabilizing sealer. We have had good success with this method in creating hard, stable joints.
Polymeric Sand: This method has developed a bad reputation due to improper installation. Many times, we find jobs with good polymeric sand that might require touching up a few joints after we clean. The best way to explain polymeric sand is that it is shipped dry and must be activated with water to harden. If the surrounding area never dries out, this product will not work.
Our premium Trident sealants protect your pavers from the elements, enhance their color, and give them a beautiful, lustrous shine. This is some of our commonly used sealers:
Hurricane CAT 5 is the ultimate in 2-part sealers made with a new generation urethane providing ultra-durable surface protection. Its Armor Bond joint stabilization hardens joint sand to prevent sand washout. It provides the deepest color enhancement with high-gloss finish using T3 True Tone Technology. It has an added antifungal that protects the sealer film from mold, moss and algae.
Cyclone: Known for its superior durability and one coat application. Cyclone offers a strong protective barrier that resists wear and tear from heavy traffic and environmental factors. It's ideal for high-traffic areas and ensures long-lasting beauty and protection.
Sea Wall: This almost invisible sealer, specifically formulated for coastal areas, Sea Wall provides exceptional protection against saltwater, preventing erosion and maintaining the aesthetic appeal of pavers in marine environments.
